Population ageing

How will changes in population transform the world’s ability to meet the challenges that lie ahead for society and our healthcare services?

Digital health

A serial healthcare entrepreneur with a PhD in Engineering Physics, Dr Ali Parsa believes his tech start-up, Babylon, can do for healthcare what Google did for information.

Keynote: Finance

This keynote explores how capital can be democratised, giving community investors the choice to invest in health.

Keynote: Quality improvement

In this keynote address, covering evolutionary biology, genetics and healthcare stories, Dr Sharad P Paul MD focuses on the greatest defence doctors can develop against their own unemployment: empathy.

Keynote: Arts and health

Dr Daisy Fancourt details the growing research demonstrating the effects of arts and cultural engagement on health across the lifespan, from lullabies helping premature babies to gain weight, to magic tricks improving hand function in hemiplegia, to dance helping people with Parkinson’s disease to walk.

Critical care

This presentation explores futuristic intensive care unit (ICU) design with a view to how it may look in 2050. It focuses on various approaches to futuristic innovations and looks at new technologies that are seemingly way beyond today’s capabilities. These technologies will include a mixture of iterative improvements, as well as marked transformative changes.

Keynote: Ageing population

Keynote: Digital health

This keynote talk focuses on health innovator babylon's artificial intelligence and digital health technology, and the company's belief that it’s possible to put an accessible and affordable health service in the hands of every person on the planet.

Arts and health

Highlighting the growing research demonstrating the effects of arts and cultural engagement on health across the lifespan, Dr Daisy Fancourt, a Wellcome research fellow at University College London, gave a stirring keynote address to open the second day’s proceedings of the 4th European Healthcare Design Congress earlier this week.

Awards 2019

The Call for Entries for the European Healthcare Design Awards 2019 has been extended until 14 March, giving interested parties an extra two weeks to send in their project submissions. Overall, there are ten categories across primary, secondary and tertiary levels of international healthcare provision and delivery.

EHD2018 Awards

The curtain came down on the European Healthcare Design Congress 2018 yesterday (12 June) in traditional style, with a ceremony to celebrate the winners of the European Healthcare Design Awards.
