dr.ir.drs. Johan van der Zwart

dr.ir.drs. Johan van der Zwart is assistant professor Architecture & Health at the NTNU, Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. He received a M.Sc. in Architecture (2001), a PhD in real estate management (Building better hospitals, value-adding management & design of healthcare real estate, 2014) and a M.Sc. Healthcare Management (2016). He worked as assistant professor Landscape Architecture (2001-2008) and PhD candidate (2008-2014) at Delft University of Technology. He worked as postdoc Architecture & Health (2015-2017) at the NTNU, where he initiated the project ‘Smart Hospital Architecture,’ one of the strategic projects of NTNU Health, on measuring flow of people and equipment within the hospital by using an Enterprise’s Building Information Model (EBIM).
