Joanna is an artist filmmaker and Professor of Filmmaking at the University of Sussex. Her research explores philosophical and ethical ideas through creative practice, presenting characters & stories that reflect the diversity & complexity of women’s experiences. Her current project ‘Goodbye Breasts!’ is a documentary and art installation about cancer, faulty genes and recovery that follows her personal journey of two-time cancer diagnosis and double mastectomy, alongside the experiences of other women.
