Owing to high demand, the Call for Papers deadline for the 7th European Healthcare Design 2021 Congress (EHD 2021) has been extended until Friday 12 February. The congress will take place on 14-16 June 2021 and it is scheduled to be held ‘in person’ if it is safe to do so, with live streaming globally online.
While vaccines bring hope that the Covid-19 pandemic can soon be controlled, the year has started with many health systems in crisis. And as the World Health Organization has been keen to stress, although the vaccination roll-out has begun in high-income countries, a global immunisation programme will take longer to take effect, while questions remain over how long immunity will last.
As has become tradition, the European Healthcare Design Congress 2020 was brought to a close with a ceremony to celebrate the winners of the European Healthcare Design Awards 2020, supported by Integrated Health Projects (IHP) and category sponsors WSP, Hoare Lea and Medical Architecture.
The 6th European Healthcare Design Congress – the first-ever delivered virtually, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic and necessary restrictions on social gatherings – kicked off with a hard-hitting opening plenary looking at designing for population and planetary health within the context of climate change and COVID-19.
